ACCURATE BREATH ALCOHOL TESTING FOR REDUCED DRINK DRIVING LIMITS

The proposed reductions to drink driving limits in Northern Ireland
could mean that drivers will be tested at 50mg per 100ml of blood
instead of the current 80mg. An additional proposal to reduce limits for
professional drivers and young drivers could mean a further reduction
to 20mg. Whatever the limit, the Draeger Alcotest 6810 breath alcohol
measuring instrument is simple, quick and easy to use and will show an
accurate, clear result that can be both recorded and printed in situ.

Ready for use within six seconds of start up, this hand-held, ambidextrous
instrument features simple, three-button operation and provides full text
messages via a clear, back-lit LCD graphic display. Results are shown in
PASS, FAIL and ALERT and ug/mL as well as mg/L, %o or %. In addition, it
incorporates three different LED colours to provide an immediate visual
confirmation of the result.

Hygienic in use, the patented, secure mouthpiece is easy to both attach and
remove and measurements can be taken at the touch of a single button.
Eliminating the possibility of breath sample manipulation and offering low
blowing resistance, the Alcotest 6810 emits an audible alarm at the end of the
testing process.

Providing up to 1500 measurements with just one pair of AA batteries, it has a
short warm-up and retest time, even after high alcohol concentrations. For
maximum ease of use it also benefits from a simple, quick accuracy check
and calibration procedure.

An efficient datalogger enables 200 events to be stored at any one time and,
once stored, users are able to recall the appropriate test number and display
the result as and when required. For those applications where hard copies
are required the unit can also be supplied with a mobile printer.

Draeger has been supplying police forces all over the world with the most up to date breath alcohol devices for over 50 years. Drawing on this experience as well as user feedback, and designed to meet modern day requirements, the Alcotest 6810 forms part of the extensive Draeger range of drug, alcohol and portable gas detection instruments.
